London, July 03 2018– Fenestra, the independent media-trading blockchain protocol designed to transform the media and advertising buying industries, has today appointed Marco Ricci as Managing Director, International. Marco will be responsible for leading the start-up’s expansion with a specific focus on the commercial development of the platform across EMEA. Marco’s remit includes all commercial and operational functions from sales, business development, and talent, to partnerships and business operations.
Marco is a seasoned AdTech industry professional, with a proven record leading operations for some of the world’s most prestigious businesses. Marco’s extensive background in ad-tech spans 16 years across a variety of digital businesses. He has led technology teams at WPP’s GroupM and Microsoft, before moving to Google to lead global sales teams both in New York and London. Marco’s major successes include securing global multimillion-dollar deals with the ‘big 5’ agency groups, as well as partnerships and collaborations with several NASDAQ & FTSE 100 brands.
Recently, Marco transitioned into the early stage and startup world, developing strong credentials as a successful ad-tech entrepreneur and active speaker on the need for greater transparency within the industry. Following his agency career, Marco was head of advertising verification startup, Telemetry, in the US, following which he was appointed CEO at Adloox, an audit verification business which empowers brands to understand the efficiency of their media spend and ensure they are getting the full return on their digital investments.
Whilst at Adloox, Marco led the company to year-on-year triple-digit revenue growth across more than 32 markets worldwide, demonstrating his natural sales acumen and leadership qualities.
The hire forms another key strategic step made by Fenestra, now strengthening management across EMEA, following the recent appointment of Charles Whittingham to lead international growth across the Americas. Equally, Marco’s advocacy and public support on the subject of ad transparency makes him a key hire to supercharge Fenestra’s long-term vision for the sector, to bring greater transparency and clarity to the agency model and industry via the use of innovative technologies.
